Plastic offsets have similar characteristics to the carbon market by generating 'plastic offset credits'. Each credit signifies the removal of plastic pollution from the environment in the same way that carbon offsets remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

Partners can buy the Plastic Credits to compensate for the plastic they use on a daily basis. 1 Plastic Credit = 1kg of plastic removed from the environment. All Seven Clean Seas Plastic Credits are third party certified and issued through a separate third party Plastic Credit Registry by global registry Verra.
