Algapelago: Kelp Afforestation
Kelp afforestation involves inoculating lines in the ocean with kelp, resulting in the growth of up to one hundred kelp plants per meter. This process contributes to the expansion of kelp ecosystems, benefiting marine environments. The Blue Forest project will measure: i) kelp carbon flows, ii) biodiversity uplift and iii) the lifecycle of cultivated kelp.
