Lions Roar for Change
A Lions Tour is a unique blend of what makes rugby special, a celebration of sport and the power it has to unite people from different backgrounds and cultures, each one taking all involved extraordinary place for a never to be repeated experience that creates sporting history, memories and bonds that last a lifetime.
Playing for the Lions is the pinnacle of players’ careers; it is a once in a lifetime experience for fans and leaves an enduring legacy wherever the team visit.
As a touring rugby team with a proud 135-year history and a global fan base, we are acutely aware that the very nature of what we do, bringing our game to different corners of the world comes with a significant footprint. This includes the emissions generated by our operations, our players and staff, and the thousands of fans who travel to support us.
In 2022, we internally launched the Lions Impact Program, a long-term initiative to understand and reduce that footprint and ultimately leave behind something greater than memories of extraordinary rugby.
