Building an Impact Legacy
As part of our commitment to creating a positive impact legacy, the British & Irish Lions have developed a Carbon Offset Portfolio that highlights our responsibility to mitigate the environmental impact of the 2025 Tour. This portfolio showcases three high-integrity climate projects that support global climate action while aligning with our values of sustainability and accountability:
Reducing Gas Leaks in Bangladesh: This initiative focuses on minimising methane emissions by detecting and repairing leaks in the Titas gas distribution network - helping curb one of the most potent greenhouse gases at its source.
Katingan Mentaya Peatland Restoration (Indonesia): One of the world’s largest forest-based carbon projects, this effort protects 149,800 hectares of peatland, preventing millions of tonnes of CO₂ emissions while supporting biodiversity and local livelihoods.
Kuamut Rainforest Conservation (Malaysia): Located in Sabah, this project safeguards one of the oldest rainforests on Earth. It not only prevents deforestation but also helps preserve critical habitats for endangered species and supports sustainable livelihoods for indigenous communities.
Together, these projects reflect the Lions’ proactive role in addressing global climate challenges and delivering real, measurable climate impact - today and for the future.
