Kelp forests are created by a large canopy forming brown seaweeds. These extensive coastal habitats provide valuable ecological and economic services to humans, including refuges for biodiversity, provision of food and products, and carbon storage.
Everclime is working with Canopy Blue to bring Kelp Reforestation Certificates to market soon - watch this space!

Kelp Reforestation
Canopy Blue
Canopy Blue has partnered with The University of Western Australia on a mission to restore over 100,000 Ha of lost kelp forest.
The project aims to unlock Kelp Reforestation globally as a nature based solution to combat climate change. Canopy Blue’s kelp credits are a funding mechanism to support the ongoing development and maintenance of the project. It also enables businesses to support a local project that's beneficial to WA’s coastal environment.

Kelp Impact Certificates
Western Australian Kelp Impact Certificates are not yet registered under a formal carbon certification framework. A third party will independently verify the project and ensure that the cancellation of these Western Australian Kelp Reforestation Credits will be carried out through Everclime and Canopy Blue’s internal registries, guaranteeing each credit cannot be resold.
