Nunyara is a family owned and operated land regeneration and integrated grazing enterprise operating on over 200,000 acres in western NSW and southwest QLD.

Guided by the principle of Nunyara - a word from the language of the Barngarla people, meaning to restore to health - we aim to leave the land on our properties in better health than we found it.

Nunyara is the culmination of a lived connection to, and a deep respect for, the Australian rangelands and the people, plants and animals who call the rangelands home.

With a focus on collaboration and community, we work hand in hand with neighbours, cultural custodians, and technical experts, to protect and enhance our ecosystems. Our properties serve as more than just places of work; they're places of learning, laughter, and a shared vision for a thriving landscape.

All of our activities acknowledge our potential influence throughout the agricultural value chain and within the larger human and ecological systems that sustain us.

Natural Capital

Through our stewardship, we support the regeneration of ecosystems across over 200,000 acres in the Australian rangelands, including the Warrego floodplain, Bogan floodplain, inland freshwater lakes, mulga woodlands, open grasslands and stony ridge country.

Our Community

We recognise our role as custodians of Australia, valuing both its environment and rural communities. Instead of focusing solely on carbon sequestration, we aim for balance, maximising agricultural productivity while also sequestering carbon and improving biodiversity. We prioritise social and community outcomes, supporting local initiatives like sponsoring sports teams and cultural programs. We advocate for shopping locally and collaborate with neighbouring organisations for land management. As part of our commitment, we donate 5% of our net profits to selected charities.

Livestock Production

We use advanced land management methods and data-driven decision-making to optimise production. Innovative satellite imagery and telemetry systems, along with infrastructure upgrades, provide real-time, accurate information crucial for livestock management and marketing. Significant investments in fencing and water distribution ensure even pasture utilisation and access to clean water for all animals. Our extensive fencing helps manage feral animals and grazing pressure, prioritising ground cover and allowing for rotational resting of land. With a herd of 20,000 dse, we focus on low-stress handling techniques and grass-fed grazing, avoiding hormone growth products, irrigated pastures, and manufactured feeds.
