A little about Greta ❤️
Greta was added to the National Hockey Senior Women’s Squad in 2019 after making her debut for the Hockeyroos at the 2018 Champions Trophy as a 22-year-old. A standout Sydney University midfielder, she impressed during the Champions Trophy, earning her first call-up following strong form for the NSW Arrows in the 2018 Australian Hockey League. A member of Australia’s 2016 Junior World Cup team, Greta continued to shine on the field, eventually playing a key role in NSW Pride’s 2022 Hockey One League victory, where she scored the winning penalty in the shootout.
LGBTQ+ Role Model of the Year 🏳️🌈
Hockeyroo #501 Greta Hayes winning LGBTQ+ Role Model of the Year for her work in the community, eight hockey organisations and clubs were awarded either gold, silver or bronze status, with the highest recognition going to Hockey Australia for the first time and Hockey ACT for the second year running.
